Cyber Outreach

Cyber Outreach began in January 2025 as a response to the growing number of youths who are socially withdrawn and increasingly isolated in online spaces. Often referred to as hidden youths, these youths may withdraw from in-person interactions for extended periods. Recognising that many of these youths spend significant time online, the Cyber Outreach team meets them where they are: through interactive digital spaces they already feel comfortable navigating.

The team engages youths primarily through live streaming platforms, by streaming games that youths are already interested in, using shared gameplay as a natural way to build rapport and connection. Twitch streams allow for real-time interaction, conversation, and relational engagement through shared activities. Engagement also occurs through other social media and online platforms, creating multiple points of connection and invitation into the online community.

Through consistent online engagement, youths are gradually invited into our online community on Discord. This community serves as a low-barrier, supportive space where youths can connect with peers, interact with youth workers, and take initial steps out of isolation at their own pace.

Together with our M.O.S.T outreach efforts, Cyber Outreach reflects our belief that meaningful connections can begin both on the streets and online, and that every interaction, whether digital or physical, has the potential to build trust and spark change.
