Aftercare Programme & Long-term Mentorship
Support Beyond the Programme
Returning to everyday life after a rehabilitation programme can take time.
YGOS continues to walk alongside youths as they reconnect with family and community, return to school or work, and adjust to the changes and responsibilities that come with moving forward.

About Aftercare
Staying Connected
Aftercare provides continued support for youths beyond the completion of a programme.
Through ongoing relationships and mentoring, youths have people they can stay connected with as they work towards their goals, manage setbacks and settle into the next stage of their lives.
The type of support may look different for each young person, depending on where they are and what they need.

HOW AFTERCARE SUPPORTS YOUTHS
Continued Mentoring
Youths can continue to receive guidance from people who know their journey and can support them through the challenges that come after a programme.
Reconnecting With Everyday Life
Support can help youths navigate their return to family, school, employment and the wider community.
Building Positive Connections
Aftercare helps youths strengthen relationships and build connections that can support their continued growth.
Community
From Receiving Support to Supporting Others
For some youths, their journey with YGOS develops into an opportunity to contribute back.
Through YGOS's aftercare work, youths may take on positive roles within their communities, share their experiences and encourage others who may be going through similar challenges.
This gives young people opportunities to recognise how far they have come while using their experiences to make a difference to others.

Part of the Continuum Care
Continuing the Journey
Aftercare extends YGOS's support beyond formal rehabilitation programmes, helping young people navigate the next stage of their lives.
By staying connected beyond a programme, YGOS can continue supporting youths as they put what they have learnt into practice and build greater stability in their lives.
