YGOS Joins National Launch of the SG Youth Plan

Youth Guidance Outreach Services (YGOS) was honoured to be part of the national launch of the SG Youth Plan by the National Youth Council (NYC) and the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), joining government leaders, community partners and youth organisations in a shared commitment to invest in Singapore’s next generation.

Our Executive Director, Wilson, was among the representatives on stage during the official launch, symbolising the collective effort between the people, public and community sectors to create more opportunities for young people to thrive.

Launched as Singapore's national roadmap for youth development, the SG Youth Plan is built around three aspirations: helping every young person become Confident, Connected and Contributing. Developed through extensive engagements with youths and partners across the country, the plan recognises that empowering young people requires collaboration across government, schools, businesses and community organisations.

The SG Youth Plan has also created new opportunities for YGOS to deepen our work with young people. Through the plan, YGOS is expanding our drop-in support at our Woodlands youth centre, The Collective, where we are proud to be one of 12 pilot Third Spaces. 

Designed as welcoming environments where youths can build connections, explore their interests and find a sense of belonging, these Third Spaces make it easier for young people to access support in their own communities. Young people can hang out with us at The Collective and discover activities and opportunities through DISCOVER at discover.nyc.gov.sg.

This vision resonates strongly with the work YGOS has been carrying out for nearly three decades.

The Collective at YGOS Woodlands is one of 12 pilot Third Spaces under the SG Youth Plan.

Every day, our teams journey alongside young people through mentoring, youth development programmes, rehabilitation and community partnerships. Whether supporting youths at risk, creating opportunities for personal growth or helping them rebuild confidence and purpose, we believe every young person has the potential to flourish when they are given the right support.

Throughout the event, the YGOS team also engaged visitors at our exhibition booth, sharing more about our programmes and connecting with fellow organisations who share the same commitment to investing in young people. These conversations opened new opportunities for collaboration and reinforced the importance of working together to strengthen Singapore's youth ecosystem.

The launch of the SG Youth Plan marks an important milestone, but the work of building brighter futures continues long after the event.

YGOS remains committed to partnering with government agencies, community organisations and supporters to create environments where every young person can grow with confidence, build meaningful connections and make a positive contribution to society.
